Weather model resolution Follow
In general, the higher the resolution of a model, the greater the precision. Remember that a higher resolution model has a smaller grid size. For instance, a 12km model is lower resolution than a 2km model.
Below is a comparison between a 12km resolution model (which is the standard resolution for the NAM model) and a 2km model for San Francisco Bay.
